Salt Galata is one of the works that makes Istanbul Istanbul, preserves
its historical identity and fills the eye with its neoclassical and orientalist
architecture. Formerly used as the Ottoman Bank, the work now houses the
cultural and artistic world with the restoration of Garanti Bank. It includes
exhibitions, speeches, singing, film screenings, performances and workshops. In
addition, there is a magnificent library consisting of 2 floors and 1
mezzanine. Generally there is a little dim atmosphere but this will not prevent
you from reading books. one of the pleasant environments. If we talk about the
possibilities of the library; computers and video watching environment. The
books it contains include books written in a foreign language, visual
practices, built environment, social life and economic history, and a rich
archive of physical and digital documents. Ferit F. Şahenk Hall is assigned
section for you, especially if you are doing an MA, PhD or an academic. You can
also enter here by booking. Finally, do not return without seeing the Ottoman
bank vault inside the library.
➠Notlar:
➦Salt Galata is open daily from 10.00-20.00
(except Mondays). I recommend you to be there before 13.00 at the latest for
the library.
➦There is also a small store on the
ground floor called the Robinson Cruise 308 with interesting books, just across
from the Neolokal Cafe. You can browse.

I can say that I also liked this
2-storey café, which is located on the ground floor of the building. I saw that
they have an open kitchen that works clean. Other than that, the food was nice,
just being a little late about the service.
